After being on the run for a month, Stan Daniels, an escapee from the Stan Daniels Healing Centre, has been found south of Edmonton.
The 35-year-old man had been reported missing on May 1st, after he failed to return to the healing centre following a day pass. He was considered to be at large and a risk to public safety.
According to the Edmonton Police Service, Daniels was located on June 1st in the area of 41 Avenue and 17 Street SW, approximately 30 kilometers south of the healing centre.
Police say that Daniels was taken into custody without incident and has been returned to the healing centre.
The Stan Daniels Healing Centre is a minimum-security facility that provides treatment and support for individuals with addictions and mental health issues. It is operated by Alberta Health Services.
In a statement, Alberta Health Services expressed relief that Daniels has been found and returned to the healing centre. They also thanked the public and the Edmonton Police Service for their assistance in locating him.
The circumstances surrounding Daniels’ escape and his time on the run have not been disclosed. It is also unclear if he will face any charges for his escape.
