Calgary residents, get ready to make a splash! The city has announced the reopening dates for its outdoor pools, just in time for the summer season.
According to the City of Calgary, the first outdoor pool to open will be the South Glenmore Park pool on June 12. This will be followed by the opening of the Stanley Park pool on June 19, and the Mount Pleasant pool on June 26.
For those looking to cool off in the water, the city has also announced that the Riley Park wading pool will open on June 12, while the Prairie Winds Park wading pool will open on June 19.
However, due to ongoing construction, the Bowview outdoor pool will remain closed for the summer season. The city is currently working on a new pool facility to replace the aging Bowview pool, with an expected completion date of fall 2022.
In addition to the outdoor pools, the city has also announced the reopening of its spray parks. The Rotary Park and Prairie Winds Park spray parks will open on June 12, while the Bowness Park and Eau Claire Plaza spray parks will open on June 19.
The city has also implemented safety measures to ensure the health and well-being of all visitors. This includes increased cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch areas, as well as limiting the number of people allowed in the pool at one time.
As always, the city reminds residents to follow all public health guidelines, including physical distancing and hand hygiene, while enjoying these outdoor facilities.
So mark your calendars, Calgary! The city’s outdoor pools and spray parks are ready to welcome you back for a summer of fun and relaxation. Stay cool and stay safe!
