A man is facing charges after allegedly knocking on a door and punching the victim in Toronto’s east end.
According to Toronto Police, the incident occurred on Monday evening in the area of Danforth and Coxwell Avenues.
The suspect reportedly knocked on the door of a residence and when the victim answered, he punched them in the face before fleeing the scene.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Police were called and a search for the suspect began. He was located and arrested a short time later.
The suspect, identified as 32-year-old John Smith, has been charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.
He is scheduled to appear in court on a later date.
Police have not released any information on a possible motive for the attack.
