Motorcyclist seriously injured in Kelowna crash: RCMP

A motorcyclist has been left with serious injuries after a crash in Kelowna, according to the RCMP.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 33 and Highway 97. The motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Highway 33 when they collided with a vehicle turning left onto Highway 97.

The motorcyclist was thrown from their bike and sustained serious injuries. They were immediately transported to the hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. The intersection was closed for several hours as the RCMP conducted their investigation.

According to the RCMP, speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. However, they are reminding all motorists to be cautious and aware of their surroundings, especially during the busy summer months when more motorcycles are on the road.

The RCMP is also urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward and assist with their investigation.
