The family of a British Columbia city councillor is pleading for information regarding a hit-and-run incident that tragically took the life of their loved one.
On the evening of February 18th, 2021, 48-year-old Paul Albrecht was struck by a vehicle while walking in the 2700 block of Lougheed Highway in Port Coquitlam. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, leaving Albrecht with fatal injuries.
Albrecht, who was a city councillor for Port Coquitlam since 2018, was known for his dedication to public service and his passion for making a positive impact in his community. He was also a devoted husband and father of two young children.
In a statement released by the family, they expressed their deep grief and shock over the sudden loss of Albrecht. They described him as a kind, compassionate, and selfless individual who always put others before himself.
