Two students from Saskatoon have been awarded a highly coveted national scholarship for their academic achievements.
The scholarship, known as the “National Excellence Scholarship”, is given to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance, leadership skills, and community involvement.
The two recipients, Sarah Jones and Michael Patel, were both thrilled to receive the prestigious award. Jones, a grade 12 student at Saskatoon Collegiate, has maintained a 95% average throughout her high school career and has been actively involved in various extracurricular activities, including volunteering at a local soup kitchen and organizing fundraisers for charity.
Patel, a grade 11 student at Walter Murray Collegiate, has also excelled academically with a 97% average and has shown strong leadership skills as the president of his school’s student council. He has also been involved in his community by volunteering at a local hospital and coaching a youth soccer team.
Both Jones and Patel were selected from a pool of thousands of applicants across the country. The scholarship is highly competitive and only a small number of students are chosen each year.
The National Excellence Scholarship not only recognizes academic achievement, but also encourages recipients to continue their pursuit of excellence in their future endeavors. It provides financial support for post-secondary education and also offers opportunities for mentorship and networking with other high-achieving students.
