Yordan Alvarez homers twice, Astros shut out Blue Jays again in 8-0 victory

Houston Astros’ Yordan Alvarez proved to be a formidable force on the field as he hit two home runs, leading his team to an 8-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays for the second time in a row.

The Astros dominated the game from the start, with Alvarez’s first home run in the second inning giving them an early lead. He then solidified their lead with another home run in the fourth inning, bringing his total to three home runs in the series.

Alvarez’s impressive performance was not the only highlight of the game. Astros’ pitcher, Lance McCullers Jr., also had a stellar outing, pitching six scoreless innings and striking out seven batters.

On the other hand, the Blue Jays struggled to find their footing, with their starting pitcher Tanner Roark giving up six runs in just four innings. Their offense also failed to produce any runs, leaving them scoreless for the second consecutive game.

This loss marks the Blue Jays’ fourth consecutive defeat, while the Astros continue to dominate with their fifth straight win.

Despite the lopsided score, Blue Jays’ manager Charlie Montoyo remained optimistic, stating that his team is still in the early stages of the season and there is plenty of time to turn things around.

Meanwhile, Astros’ manager Dusty Baker praised his team’s performance, particularly Alvarez’s impressive display of power at the plate.

The two teams will face off once again on Sunday, with the Blue Jays hoping to avoid a series sweep and the Astros looking to continue their winning streak.
