Delta man facing 18 firearm, weapons-related charges, Canadian border officials say

A Delta man is facing a total of 18 charges related to firearms and weapons, according to Canadian border officials.

The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was arrested at the Canadian border after officials discovered a cache of weapons in his possession.

The incident occurred on March 2, when the man attempted to enter Canada through the Pacific Highway border crossing. During a routine inspection, border officials found a loaded handgun, a loaded rifle, and a large quantity of ammunition in the man’s vehicle.

Further investigation led to the discovery of additional weapons, including a crossbow, a machete, and several knives. In total, the man was found to be in possession of 18 firearms and weapons.

As a result, the man has been charged with 18 counts, including possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of a firearm without a license.

The man has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 16.
