American Cornhole League makes Canadian tour stop in Airdrie

The American Cornhole League (ACL) has made its way to Canada, with a tour stop in Airdrie, Alberta. The popular game, also known as bean bag toss, has gained a strong following in the United States and is now making its mark in the Great White North.

The ACL is the governing body for the sport of cornhole, organizing tournaments and events across the United States. With its expansion into Canada, the league hopes to introduce more people to the game and grow its fan base.

The Airdrie tour stop, held at the Genesis Place Recreation Centre, featured both professional and amateur players competing for a chance to win cash prizes and qualify for the ACL World Championships in July.

According to ACL Commissioner Stacey Moore, the league is excited to bring the sport to Canada and showcase the talent of Canadian players. “We have seen a lot of interest and growth in the sport in Canada, and we are thrilled to be able to provide a platform for players to compete at a professional level,” Moore said.

The game of cornhole involves throwing bean bags at a raised platform with a hole at the end. Points are awarded for getting the bag in the hole or landing it on the platform. It may seem simple, but the game requires skill, strategy, and precision.

For Canadian players, the tour stop in Airdrie was a chance to showcase their skills and compete against some of the best players in the world. “It’s great to have the ACL come to Canada and give us the opportunity to compete at a high level,” said Canadian player, Mark Johnson.

The ACL’s expansion into Canada is a testament to the growing popularity of cornhole and the potential for the sport to continue to grow in the country. With more tour stops planned in Canada, the league hopes to attract even more players and fans to the game.

As the tour stop in Airdrie came to a close, it was clear that the sport of cornhole has found a new home in Canada. With its mix of competition and camaraderie, the ACL is sure to continue making its mark in the Great White North.
