Port Colborne Family Arrested as a Result of a Theft Investigation

On March 31, 2024, 6 District (Port Colborne/ Wainfleet) uniform officers responded to a report of a theft of a credit card.

The resulting investigation revealed that a stolen credit card was fraudulently used from March 12, 2024, through March 25, 2024, at multiple businesses across the Niagara Region.  Investigating officers obtained security footage from the businesses and were able to identify three involved suspects.

On May 6, 2024, uniform officers arrested three suspects related to this investigation.

A 58-year-old man from Port Colborne was arrested and charged with:

Possession of property obtained by Crime Unauthorized use of credit card (9 Counts)

A 45-year-old woman from Port Colborne was arrested and charged with:

Unauthorized use of credit card (2 Counts)

A 16-year-old male of Port Colborne has been arrested and charged with:

Possession of property obtained by Crime Unauthorized use of credit card (13 Counts)

All three accused were released on Form 10 Undertakings with future court dates.

The NRPS is prohibited from identifying the youth under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada.  The release of the identity of charged adults would lead to the identity of their son, a young person.
