$430K worth of illegal cannabis seized from Manitoba home: RCMP

A significant amount of illegal cannabis, worth approximately $430,000, has been seized from a home in Manitoba by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

According to the RCMP, the seizure was made on April 22, 2021, after a search warrant was executed at a residence in the Rural Municipality of St. Clements. The investigation was initiated after receiving information about the illegal production and distribution of cannabis from the community.

During the search, officers discovered and seized 430 cannabis plants, along with a large quantity of dried cannabis and cannabis-infused products. The estimated street value of the seized cannabis is approximately $430,000.

The RCMP also found evidence of an illegal cannabis production operation, including equipment and materials used for cultivation and processing. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending against the individual responsible for the illegal operation.

Sergeant Paul Manaigre of the Manitoba RCMP stated that the illegal production and distribution of cannabis pose a significant risk to public safety and health. He also emphasized the importance of community members reporting any suspicious activities to the police.

The RCMP is committed to enforcing laws and regulations related to the production and distribution of cannabis, and will continue to work with partners to combat illegal activities in the community.
