Flin Flon duo charged in raid on home cannabis store: Manitoba RCMP

Manitoba RCMP have made a significant bust in the town of Flin Flon, uncovering an illegal cannabis operation.

According to authorities, the investigation began after receiving a tip from a concerned citizen about suspicious activity at a residence in the area. Upon further investigation, officers discovered a large-scale cannabis grow operation inside the home.

The RCMP executed a search warrant on the property and seized over 500 cannabis plants, along with a significant amount of dried cannabis and other related equipment. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $500,000.

In addition to the drugs, police also found evidence of electricity theft and tampering with the electrical system, which poses a serious safety risk to the community.

Two individuals, a 44-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, were arrested at the scene and are facing charges of production and possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking, as well as theft of electricity.

Sergeant Paul Manaigre of the Manitoba RCMP stated that this bust is a prime example of the importance of community involvement in fighting illegal drug operations. He also emphasized the dangers of these types of operations, not only in terms of criminal activity but also in terms of public safety.

The RCMP is urging anyone with information about illegal drug activity to come forward and report it to the authorities. They also remind the public that cannabis production and distribution is only legal through licensed facilities and any other form is considered illegal.

The two individuals arrested in this case are scheduled to appear in court at a later date. The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be laid.

This bust serves as a reminder that the RCMP is committed to keeping our communities safe and will continue to work diligently to combat illegal drug operations.
