A peahen has captured the hearts of a British Columbia neighborhood after spending three days in a local pub. The bird, named “Peaches” by the community, has become a beloved member of the neighborhood family.
According to witnesses, Peaches first appeared in the area on Monday, wandering around the streets and yards. She eventually made her way to the doors of the Artful Dodger Pub, where she was welcomed by the staff and patrons.
The pub’s owner, Darby, described Peaches as “very friendly and curious.” She quickly became a hit with the customers, who took turns feeding her and taking photos with her.
But Peaches’ adventure didn’t stop there. She soon befriended a nearby family, who welcomed her into their home and even let her sleep in their daughter’s room. The family’s daughter, Lily, was thrilled to have a new feathered friend and even made a special bed for Peaches out of a laundry basket.
Peaches’ stay at the pub and the family’s home lasted for three days, until she was finally captured by animal control on Wednesday. It is believed that she escaped from a nearby farm and was looking for a new home.
The community has been buzzing with excitement over Peaches’ unexpected visit. Many have expressed their love for the friendly bird and hope that she will find a permanent home where she can continue to spread joy and happiness.
In the meantime, Peaches’ temporary family at the pub and the neighborhood will surely miss her presence. But her brief stay has left a lasting impression and brought the community closer together.
