A Brant County man has been charged with assault on a police officer after an incident on Tuesday evening.
According to the Brantford Police Service, officers were called to a residence on Colborne Street East around 7:30 p.m. for a disturbance. Upon arrival, they encountered a 32-year-old man who allegedly became aggressive and physically assaulted one of the officers.
The officer sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
The man was arrested and charged with assault on a police officer, as well as causing a disturbance and breaching his probation order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
