Five charged after drugs, weapons seized during trafficking investigation in Brocket, Alta.

Five individuals have been charged after a trafficking investigation in Brocket, Alberta resulted in the seizure of drugs and weapons.

According to the RCMP, the investigation began in March 2021 and involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Blood Tribe Police Service and the Lethbridge Police Service.

During the investigation, police executed search warrants at two residences in Brocket and one in Lethbridge. As a result, a significant amount of drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl, were seized, along with multiple firearms and a large sum of cash.

The five individuals, who have not been named, are facing a total of 30 charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The RCMP has stated that this investigation is a prime example of the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies in tackling drug trafficking and keeping communities safe.

The accused are scheduled to appear in court on June 17, 2021, in Fort Macleod.
