A woman visiting family in Winnipeg was stabbed on Sunday evening, according to police.
The incident occurred in the 100 block of Isabel Street around 7:30 p.m. Police say the woman was visiting family in the area when she was approached by a male suspect who stabbed her multiple times.
The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition, but her condition has since been upgraded to stable.
Police have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with the stabbing. He has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.
The motive for the attack is still under investigation, but police say it does not appear to be a random act.
The suspect and victim are known to each other, according to police.
