A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a car in the Beltline area of Calgary on Tuesday evening.
According to Calgary Police, the incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of 12 Avenue and 8 Street SW.
The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
Police say that speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision, but the investigation is ongoing.
The area was closed off for several hours as police gathered evidence and spoke to witnesses. The road has since been reopened.
