Whistler RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a valuable painting that was stolen from a local art gallery.
The painting, titled “Mountain Reflections,” was created by renowned artist Emily Carr and is estimated to be worth over $100,000. It was reported missing on Monday morning from the Adele Campbell Fine Art Gallery in Whistler Village.
According to the gallery’s owner, the painting was last seen on Sunday evening and was discovered missing the next day. The gallery’s security footage showed a man entering the gallery and leaving with the painting in hand.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his late 30s to early 40s, approximately 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a black jacket, and dark pants at the time of the theft.
