A man has been charged after four youths were attacked on the Galloping Goose Trail in Langford, British Columbia.

According to police, the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when the four youths were walking along the popular trail. The suspect, who has been identified as 35-year-old John Smith, allegedly approached the group and began yelling at them.

The situation quickly escalated as Smith reportedly punched and kicked the youths, leaving them with minor injuries. The victims were able to flee and call for help, while Smith fled the scene.

Police were able to locate and arrest Smith a short time later. He has been charged with four counts of assault and is currently in custody.

The motive for the attack is still under investigation, but police believe it may have been a random act of violence.
