Woman stabbed during daylight Kelowna home invasion: RCMP

A woman was stabbed during a brazen home invasion in Kelowna, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

The incident occurred in broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon at a residence on the 1300 block of Belaire Avenue. The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the RCMP, the suspect entered the home and confronted the woman before stabbing her and fleeing the scene. The victim was able to call for help and was found by emergency responders.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 30s, approximately 5’10” tall with a medium build and short dark hair. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and a black baseball cap at the time of the incident.

The RCMP is asking anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to come forward. They are also reminding residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods.

This is not the first home invasion to occur in Kelowna in recent months. In October, a man was arrested after breaking into a home and assaulting the resident. In November, another home invasion resulted in a man being shot and killed by the homeowner.

The RCMP is urging residents to take precautions to protect themselves and their homes, such as keeping doors and windows locked and installing security systems.

The investigation into this latest home invasion is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
