A shooting in North York has left one person with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The incident occurred on Monday evening at around 8:30 p.m. in the area of Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue West.

Police say that upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a male in his 20s, wearing a black hoodie and black pants. He was last seen fleeing the scene on foot.

The investigation is ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

This is the second shooting in the North York area in less than a week. Last Thursday, a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in the area of Jane Street and Falstaff Avenue.

Residents in the area are expressing concern and fear over the recent increase in gun violence.

Police are reminding the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
