She described the experience as terrifying, with strong winds and heavy rain battering the building. “We were lucky to have a sturdy building and to be on the 10th floor,” Tremblay said. “But it was still a scary experience.”
Others, like Jean-Pierre Dubois, were staying in a hotel in Orlando when the hurricane hit. “We were told to stay in our rooms and not to go outside,” Dubois recalled. “It was a long and nerve-wracking night, but thankfully the hotel held up well.”
Despite the damage caused by Hurricane Milton, many Quebec residents are grateful to have been in Florida during the storm. “We were able to witness the strength and resilience of the local community,” said Tremblay. “People came together to help each other and support those in need.”
