Quebec residents in Florida count themselves lucky after Hurricane Milton's destruction

Residents of Quebec who were in Florida during Hurricane Milton are counting themselves lucky after the storm caused widespread destruction in the state. The Category 4 hurricane made landfall on Monday, leaving a trail of damage in its wake.

According to reports, many Quebec residents were vacationing in Florida when the hurricane hit. Despite the chaos and destruction, they are grateful to have escaped unharmed.

One such resident, Marie-Claire Tremblay, was staying in a beachfront condo in Miami when the hurricane struck. She described the experience as terrifying, with strong winds and heavy rain battering the building. “We were lucky to have a sturdy building and to be on the 10th floor,” Tremblay said. “But it was still a scary experience.”

Others, like Jean-Pierre Dubois, were staying in a hotel in Orlando when the hurricane hit. “We were told to stay in our rooms and not to go outside,” Dubois recalled. “It was a long and nerve-wracking night, but thankfully the hotel held up well.”

Despite the damage caused by Hurricane Milton, many Quebec residents are grateful to have been in Florida during the storm. “We were able to witness the strength and resilience of the local community,” said Tremblay. “People came together to help each other and support those in need.”

The Quebec government has been in contact with its citizens in Florida and is providing assistance to those who have been affected by the hurricane. “We are working closely with local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens,” said Quebec Premier François Legault.

As the cleanup and recovery efforts continue in Florida, Quebec residents are reminded of the importance of being prepared for natural disasters. “We were lucky this time, but it’s important to always be prepared and have a plan in case of emergencies,” said Dubois.

Hurricane Milton may have caused destruction in Florida, but it has also brought out the resilience and strength of the community. Quebec residents who were in the state during the storm are grateful to have escaped unharmed and are now focused on helping with the recovery efforts.
