Turkey and the Wolf, a popular sandwich shop in New Orleans, has recently launched a unique and creative collaboration with shoe brand, Rothy’s. The result? A limited edition line of shoes inspired by the shop’s famous sandwiches.
The idea for this collaboration came about when Turkey and the Wolf’s owner, Mason Hereford, met Rothy’s founder, Roth Martin, at a food festival in California. The two bonded over their shared love for sustainability and creativity, and the idea for a sandwich-inspired shoe line was born.
The shoes, aptly named “The Turkey and the Wolf”, come in two styles – a slip-on and a lace-up. Both styles feature a playful and colorful design, with patterns and colors inspired by the shop’s signature sandwiches. The slip-on style is a nod to the shop’s famous fried bologna sandwich, while the lace-up style is a tribute to their popular collard green melt.
But these shoes are not just about style. They are also made with sustainability in mind. Rothy’s is known for their use of recycled materials, and these shoes are no exception. The upper part of the shoe is made from 100% recycled plastic water bottles, while the insoles are made from a combination of recycled foam and castor bean oil.
The collaboration between Turkey and the Wolf and Rothy’s is a perfect example of how two seemingly different industries can come together to create something unique and environmentally friendly. It also highlights the growing trend of sustainable fashion, where brands are finding innovative ways to reduce their environmental impact.
The limited edition shoes are available for purchase on Rothy’s website and at Turkey and the Wolf’s New Orleans location. And with a portion of the proceeds going towards the Edible Schoolyard Project, a non-profit organization that teaches children about healthy eating, these shoes are not only stylish but also support a good cause.
So, if you want to slip your footsies into a pair of shoes that are not only fashionable but also sustainable and for a good cause, be sure to check out “The Turkey and the Wolf” by Rothy’s. But hurry, these shoes are only available for a limited time.
