A tragic incident in Saskatchewan has resulted in a manslaughter charge being laid against a man. The victim, a 35-year-old man, passed away in hospital after sustaining serious injuries.
According to police, the incident occurred on December 28, 2020, in the community of Meadow Lake. The victim was found with severe injuries and was immediately transported to hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries on January 2, 2021.
After a thorough investigation, the accused, a 36-year-old man, was arrested and charged with manslaughter. He is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 11, 2021.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time, pending notification of next of kin. The cause of death has also not been disclosed.
The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit, along with the Meadow Lake RCMP, are continuing to investigate the incident. They are asking anyone with information to come forward and contact the Meadow Lake RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
