Calgary police looking for missing senior

Calgary Police are currently searching for a missing senior who was last seen on Monday afternoon.

According to authorities, 83-year-old John Smith was last seen leaving his residence in the community of Bridgeland at around 2:30 p.m. on December 28th. He was reported missing by his family later that evening.

Smith is described as being 5’8″ tall, with a slim build and short grey hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a black toque.

Police say that Smith suffers from dementia and may be disoriented or confused. They are concerned for his well-being and are asking for the public’s assistance in locating him.

Anyone with information on Smith’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.

In the meantime, authorities are reminding the public to check their properties, including sheds and garages, in case Smith sought shelter there. They are also asking residents in the Bridgeland area to review any surveillance footage they may have from Monday afternoon.

The search for Smith is ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
