Quebec City Boy Born Exactly at Midnight on Jan. 1
A new year brings new beginnings, but for one family in Quebec City, it also brought a very special birth. A baby boy was born exactly at midnight on Jan. 1, making him the first baby born in the city in 2022.
The proud parents, Marie and Jean-Pierre Tremblay, were overjoyed to welcome their son into the world at such a significant moment. “We couldn’t believe it when we saw the clock strike midnight and our baby was born,” Marie Tremblay said. “It’s a moment we will never forget.”
The baby, who has yet to be named, weighed 7 pounds and 2 ounces and was delivered at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université Laval. The hospital staff were also thrilled to be a part of this special moment. “It’s always exciting to have a baby born on New Year’s Day, but to have one born exactly at midnight is truly remarkable,” said Dr. Isabelle Gagnon, the attending physician.
According to the hospital, the baby and mother are both healthy and doing well. The family received a special gift basket filled with baby essentials and a certificate to commemorate the special birth.
This is not the first time a baby has been born at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Day in Quebec City. In fact, it has become somewhat of a tradition in the city, with a baby being born at midnight for the past five years.
The Tremblay family is looking forward to sharing this unique birthday with their son as he grows up. “We can’t wait to tell him the story of how he was born at the start of a new year,” said Jean-Pierre Tremblay. “It’s a special bond that we will always share.”
As the first baby born in Quebec City in 2022, this little boy has already made his mark on the city and his family. Congratulations to the Tremblay family on their new addition and a happy new year to all.
