Kelowna’s The Greenery Garden Centre is on its way to rebuilding after being hit hard by a severe storm that caused significant damage to its greenhouses. The popular garden centre, located on Springfield Road, has been a staple in the community for over 40 years and has faced its fair share of challenges, but this recent storm has proven to be one of the most destructive.

The storm, which occurred on June 29th, brought strong winds and heavy rain, causing extensive damage to the greenhouses at The Greenery. The structures were left with shattered glass, collapsed roofs, and scattered debris, leaving the garden centre in a state of disarray.

Despite the devastation, the owners of The Greenery, Lynda and Bob Forrest, remain optimistic and are determined to rebuild and come back stronger than ever. In a statement, they expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community and their loyal customers.

“We are overwhelmed by the support and kindness shown to us during this difficult time. It is a testament to the strong sense of community here in Kelowna,” said Lynda Forrest.

The rebuilding process has already begun, with the help of a team of dedicated staff and volunteers. The damaged greenhouses are being cleared and plans are in place to rebuild them with stronger materials to withstand future storms.

The Greenery is also taking this opportunity to make some improvements to the garden centre, including adding new features and expanding their selection of plants and products.

“We see this as a chance to not only rebuild, but to also make some positive changes and improvements to our garden centre. We are excited for what the future holds,” said Bob Forrest.

The Greenery has been a beloved destination for gardeners and plant enthusiasts in Kelowna, offering a wide variety of plants, flowers, and gardening supplies. The owners are determined to reopen as soon as possible and continue to provide the community with their exceptional products and services.

In the meantime, The Greenery is still open for business, with a temporary location set up on the property. Customers can still purchase plants and gardening supplies, and the staff is available to offer their expertise and advice.

The Greenery Garden Centre has faced many challenges over the years, but with the support of the community and their determination to rebuild, it is clear that this beloved garden centre will continue to thrive for many years to come.
