A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of this morning, as a fire broke out in a residential building in the city’s downtown area. The blaze, which started on the third floor, quickly spread to the rest of the building, causing extensive damage and claiming the lives of three individuals.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire started around 2:00 am and was first noticed by a passerby who immediately called the fire department. Firefighters arrived at the scene within minutes and began their efforts to contain the fire and rescue any trapped residents.

Despite their best efforts, the fire continued to rage for over an hour, engulfing the entire building. The intense heat and thick smoke made it difficult for firefighters to enter the building, but they were able to rescue several residents and bring the fire under control.

Tragically, three individuals were unable to escape the blaze and were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims have not yet been released, pending notification of their families.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but authorities believe it may have started due to an electrical malfunction. The building did not have a sprinkler system, which could have helped contain the fire and potentially save lives.

The affected residents have been displaced and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross. The building has been deemed uninhabitable and residents will not be able to return until repairs are made.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and the need for proper building regulations. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims and all those affected by this tragic event.
