A collision at the intersection of Highway 97 and Banks Road has resulted in significant delays for commuters in Kelowna.
According to witnesses, the crash occurred around 8:30 am this morning, involving two vehicles. Emergency services were quickly on the scene to attend to the situation.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but it appears that one of the vehicles failed to yield at a stop sign, resulting in the collision. Both drivers were able to exit their vehicles and did not sustain any major injuries.
However, the crash has caused major traffic delays in the area, with one lane of Highway 97 being closed off to allow for emergency vehicles to access the scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and to expect delays if they must travel through the intersection.
