Toronto Police Investigating Home Invasion and Kidnapping Incident
The Toronto Police Service is currently investigating a disturbing home invasion and kidnapping incident that occurred in the city’s west end on Monday night.
According to police, the incident took place at a residence on Jane Street near Eglinton Avenue West around 10:30 p.m. Three suspects, armed with handguns, forced their way into the home and proceeded to assault and restrain the occupants.
The suspects then proceeded to ransack the home and steal various items before fleeing the scene with one of the victims, a 22-year-old man. The other occupants, a 20-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy, were left behind with minor injuries.
The kidnapped victim was later found unharmed in the area of Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue West. He was taken to the hospital for assessment and has since been released.
The suspects are described as three Black males, all wearing dark clothing and masks. They were last seen fleeing the scene in a dark-coloured SUV.
The Toronto Police Service’s Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and is appealing to the public for any information that may assist in identifying the suspects.
