A 36-year-old man has been charged after a series of weapons incidents at a local hospital, according to police.
The London Police Service responded to reports of a man with a weapon at the hospital on Tuesday afternoon. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect in possession of a knife and a replica firearm.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon.
Police say the suspect had been causing a disturbance at the hospital and had made threats towards staff and patients. No injuries were reported.
This incident comes just days after another weapons incident at the same hospital, where a man was arrested for carrying a knife and a replica firearm. The suspect in that incident, a 33-year-old man, has also been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon.
The London Police Service is reminding the public that weapons of any kind are not permitted in hospitals and that anyone found in possession of a weapon will be charged accordingly.
The safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors is of utmost importance, and the London Police Service is working closely with the hospital to ensure the safety of all individuals on the premises.
Anyone with information about these incidents is urged to contact the London Police Service at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
