North Bay, ON – The North Bay Battalion continued their winning streak with a dominant performance against the Brampton Battalion, securing their third straight victory with a final score of 5-3.
The game started off with a slow pace, as both teams struggled to find their footing in the first period. However, the Battalion came out strong in the second period, scoring four goals and taking control of the game.
Forward Brandon Coe led the charge for North Bay, scoring two goals and adding an assist. His linemate, Luke Moncada, also had a strong performance with a goal and two assists.
Brampton fought back in the third period, scoring two goals and putting pressure on the Battalion. However, North Bay’s defense held strong, with goaltender Joe Vrbetic making 27 saves to secure the win.
Head coach Ryan Oulahen praised his team’s effort, stating, “We knew Brampton was going to come out strong in the third period, but our guys stayed composed and played a solid defensive game.”
The Battalion’s power play was also a key factor in their victory, with three of their five goals coming with the man advantage. This marks the third straight game where North Bay has scored multiple power play goals.
With this win, the Battalion improve their record to 6-3-0-1 and move into second place in the Central Division. They will look to continue their winning streak as they face off against the Sudbury Wolves on Friday.
As for Brampton, they drop to 3-6-0-0 and will have a chance to bounce back when they take on the Mississauga Steelheads on Saturday.
The North Bay Battalion have shown their strength and determination in their past three games, and it will be exciting to see if they can continue this momentum in the upcoming games.
