The London Knights have made a strategic move to secure their future by adding young talent to their roster. The team recently announced the signing of 16-year-old forward Luca Santala.
Santala, a native of Finland, was selected by the Knights in the first round of the 2021 CHL Import Draft. He comes highly recommended, having played for the Tappara U18 team in his home country. In 38 games, he recorded 14 goals and 17 assists for a total of 31 points.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward is known for his speed, skill, and hockey IQ. He is also praised for his strong work ethic and determination on the ice. These qualities make him a valuable addition to the Knights’ lineup.
Head coach Dale Hunter expressed his excitement about Santala joining the team, stating, “We are thrilled to have Luca join the London Knights organization. He is a talented player with a bright future ahead of him.”
Santala is equally thrilled to be joining the Knights and is looking forward to the opportunity to develop his skills in the OHL. “I am honored to be a part of such a prestigious organization and can’t wait to get started,” he said.
The Knights have a history of developing young talent and have produced numerous NHL players, including current stars such as Mitch Marner and Max Domi. With the addition of Santala, the team continues to invest in their future success.
Fans can expect to see Santala in action when the Knights hit the ice for the 2021-2022 season. His signing is a promising move for the team and a testament to their commitment to building a strong and competitive roster.
