Three individuals have been arrested in Mississauga on firearms charges, according to police.
Peel Regional Police say the arrests were made on Wednesday, following an investigation into illegal firearms activity in the area.
The three suspects, whose identities have not been released, are facing multiple charges related to the possession and trafficking of firearms.
Police say they executed search warrants at two residences in Mississauga, where they seized multiple firearms and ammunition.
The investigation was a joint effort between the Peel Regional Police Street Crime Gang Unit and the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau.
The three suspects are currently in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
Police are reminding the public that the illegal possession and trafficking of firearms is a serious offence and can result in severe penalties.
