The United Nations has declared a “code red for humanity” as the world faces the devastating effects of climate change. The report, which was approved by 195 countries, states that the Earth’s temperature is likely to rise by 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels in the next two decades. In response to the report, UN Secretary-General António Guterres urged world leaders to take bold and decisive action to address the climate crisis. He stated, “We cannot afford to wait. The climate crisis is here, and it is now.”
