Two individuals were airlifted to the hospital from a popular rock climbing area in Squamish, British Columbia on Sunday afternoon.
According to Squamish Search and Rescue (SAR), the incident occurred at the Smoke Bluffs climbing area around 2:30 p.m. local time. The two climbers, who have not been identified, were reportedly injured while attempting to climb a route known as “The Great Game.”
Squamish SAR received a call for assistance and quickly responded to the scene. The team, along with BC Ambulance Services and a helicopter from Talon Helicopters, worked together to rescue the injured climbers.
The two individuals were airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current condition is unknown at this time.
The Smoke Bluffs climbing area is a popular destination for rock climbers of all levels. It offers a variety of routes and is known for its scenic views of Howe Sound.
