BC Lions blitz Ottawa Redblacks 38-12, snap five-game skid

The BC Lions put on a dominant performance against the Ottawa Redblacks, snapping their five-game losing streak with a 38-12 victory.

The Lions came out strong from the start, with quarterback Michael Reilly leading the charge. Reilly threw for 353 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for a touchdown himself.

The Lions’ defense also played a crucial role in the win, holding the Redblacks to just 12 points and forcing three turnovers. Defensive back Garry Peters had a standout performance, recording two interceptions and a forced fumble.

The Lions’ special teams unit also contributed to the victory, with kicker Sergio Castillo making all five of his field goal attempts.

The Redblacks, on the other hand, struggled to find their footing throughout the game. Quarterback Dominique Davis was intercepted three times and the team was unable to establish a consistent offensive rhythm.

The Lions’ victory not only ends their losing streak, but also improves their record to 2-5 for the season. Head coach Rick Campbell expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “We needed this win and the guys came out and executed well in all three phases of the game.”

The Lions will look to build on this momentum as they face the Montreal Alouettes next week. With this win, the Lions have shown that they are a force to be reckoned with in the Canadian Football League.
