Several sailing cancellations as BC Ferries vessel docked over engine issue

Several sailing cancellations have been announced by BC Ferries due to a vessel being docked over an engine issue. The incident has caused disruptions for passengers traveling between Vancouver Island and the mainland.

According to BC Ferries, the vessel in question is the Queen of Alberni, which was scheduled to depart from Tsawwassen to Duke Point at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday. However, the departure was cancelled due to an engine problem that was discovered during a routine inspection.

As a result, the 8:15 a.m. sailing from Duke Point to Tsawwassen was also cancelled. BC Ferries has stated that the vessel will remain docked until the issue is resolved and it is deemed safe to resume service.

Passengers who were affected by the cancellations were given the option to be rebooked on a later sailing or receive a full refund. BC Ferries has also arranged for additional sailings to accommodate the affected passengers.

This is not the first time the Queen of Alberni has experienced engine issues. In May, the vessel was taken out of service for several days due to a mechanical problem. BC Ferries has stated that they are working to address the recurring issue and ensure the safety of their passengers.

The cancellations have caused frustration for travelers, many of whom rely on BC Ferries for transportation. However, safety is the top priority for the company and they are taking all necessary precautions to address the engine issue.

Passengers are advised to check the BC Ferries website for updates on the status of the Queen of Alberni and any potential sailing cancellations. BC Ferries has apologized for the inconvenience and is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
