Lake Country council approve large development on Airport Inn site

Lake Country council has given the green light for a major development to take place on the site of the former Airport Inn in Kelowna.

After much deliberation and consideration, the council voted in favor of the development proposal, which includes a mix of residential and commercial buildings.

The site, which has been vacant for several years, has been a topic of discussion and debate within the community. Many residents have expressed their desire for the area to be revitalized and utilized for the benefit of the community.

The approved development plan includes a mix of townhouses, apartments, and commercial spaces, as well as a public park and green space. The project is expected to bring in new jobs and economic growth to the area.

During the council meeting, Mayor James Baker stated that the development aligns with the community’s vision for the site and will bring much-needed amenities and services to the area.

The council also took into consideration the concerns raised by some residents regarding potential traffic and environmental impacts. As a result, the developers have agreed to implement traffic calming measures and incorporate sustainable design elements into the project.

The development is expected to be completed in phases over the next few years, with the first phase set to begin in the near future.

This decision by the Lake Country council marks a significant step towards the revitalization of the Airport Inn site and the overall growth and development of the community.
