Lake Country council has given the green light for a major development to take place on the site of the former Airport Inn in Kelowna.
After much deliberation and consideration, the council voted in favor of the development proposal, which includes a mix of residential and commercial buildings.
The site, which has been vacant for several years, has been a topic of discussion and debate within the community. Many residents have expressed their desire for the area to be revitalized and utilized for the benefit of the community.
The approved development plan includes a mix of townhouses, apartments, and commercial spaces, as well as a public park and green space. The project is expected to bring in new jobs and economic growth to the area.
During the council meeting, Mayor James Baker stated that the development aligns with the community’s vision for the site and will bring much-needed amenities and services to the area.
