Tragedy struck in Burlington as two individuals lost their lives in a fatal collision on Wednesday evening.

According to police, the incident occurred at the intersection of Guelph Line and Upper Middle Road just before 6 p.m. Two vehicles were involved in the collision, and both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The identities of the victims have not been released, pending notification of next of kin. However, police have confirmed that one of the drivers was a 35-year-old man from Burlington, while the other was a 42-year-old woman from Oakville.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but police have stated that speed may have been a factor. The intersection was closed for several hours as the investigation took place, causing traffic delays in the area.
