A woman has been rushed to a trauma centre after an incident on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) in Mississauga, according to paramedics.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the eastbound lanes of the QEW near Hurontario Street around 9:30 p.m. on Monday.
According to Peel Regional Paramedic Services, the woman was found with serious injuries and was immediately transported to a trauma centre for further treatment.
The extent of her injuries is currently unknown and there is no information on the cause of the incident.
The eastbound lanes of the QEW were temporarily closed as emergency crews responded to the scene, causing significant traffic delays in the area.
