Man charged after dead body found inside east Toronto apartment

A man has been charged after a dead body was discovered inside an apartment in East Toronto.

According to Toronto police, officers were called to the apartment building on Tuesday afternoon after receiving a report of a deceased person inside one of the units.

Upon arrival, officers located the body of a man inside the apartment. The victim has been identified as 55-year-old John Smith.

After further investigation, police arrested 32-year-old Mark Johnson and charged him with second-degree murder in connection with Smith’s death.
