Two individuals were injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Scarborough on Monday evening.
According to Toronto police, the incident occurred at the intersection of Markham Road and Lawrence Avenue East around 6:30 p.m.
Emergency services were called to the scene and found two vehicles with significant damage. The occupants of both vehicles were injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current condition is unknown.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but police believe that one of the vehicles may have run a red light. The intersection was closed for several hours as officers gathered evidence and cleared the scene.
Drivers are reminded to always obey traffic signals and to drive with caution, especially during the winter months when road conditions can be hazardous.
