Saskatoon, SK – A house fire broke out in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday, but thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a call at approximately 3:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Avenue O South. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the house.
Crews quickly worked to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring homes. The blaze was brought under control within 30 minutes.
According to the fire department, the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The estimated damage to the house is currently unknown, but the fire department has confirmed that the structure is still standing.
Residents in the area were temporarily evacuated as a precaution, but were able to return to their homes once the fire was extinguished.
The Saskatoon Fire Department is reminding the public to always have working smoke alarms in their homes and to have a fire escape plan in place. They also urge residents to never leave candles or cooking appliances unattended.
