According to police, a group of protesters gathered outside the temple on Peter Robertson Boulevard around 5 p.m. to demonstrate against the recent farm laws in India. The protest was peaceful until a small group of individuals began to cause a disturbance.
Witnesses reported that the group attempted to enter the temple and disrupt the religious ceremony taking place inside. They also allegedly made derogatory remarks towards those attending the ceremony.

In a statement, Peel Regional Police said they are taking the incident seriously and are working with the temple to ensure the safety of all those involved.

The incident has sparked outrage among members of the Hindu community, who have condemned the actions of the protesters.
“We are deeply saddened and disturbed by the events that took place at our temple yesterday,” said a spokesperson for the temple. “Our temple is a place of worship and we will not tolerate any form of disrespect or disruption to our religious practices.”
The temple has also stated that they will be increasing security measures to ensure the safety of their members and visitors.
