According to authorities, the incident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Portage Avenue and Sherbrook Street. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been disclosed, was struck by a vehicle and sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before police arrived. The vehicle involved is described as a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Ford Escape, with damage to the front end.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the driver to come forward. They are also asking for any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage to contact them.
