Winnipeg Police are continuing their search for suspects in a two-year homicide investigation.

The investigation began in March 2019, when officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.

Since then, police have been working tirelessly to gather evidence and identify potential suspects. However, despite their efforts, no arrests have been made in connection to the case.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Winnipeg Police said they are still actively investigating the homicide and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals responsible.

“We believe there are people out there who have information about this incident and we urge them to come forward,” said Constable Jay Murray, a spokesperson for the Winnipeg Police Service.

Murray also emphasized the importance of community involvement in solving crimes like this.

“Community involvement is crucial in helping us solve these types of cases,” he said. “We need the public’s help to bring closure to the victim’s family and friends.”

Police have not released any information about potential suspects or a possible motive for the shooting. They are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

The victim’s family has also made a plea for anyone with information to come forward.

“We miss our loved one every day and we just want justice for him,” said the victim’s sister in a statement. “Please, if you know anything, please come forward and help us find closure.”

The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward. They assure the public that all tips will be treated confidentially and that any information, no matter how small, could be crucial in solving this case.
