Three men have been charged after a drug lab was discovered in a Richmond home, according to police.
The investigation began when Richmond RCMP received a tip about a possible drug operation in a residential area. Upon further investigation, officers obtained a search warrant for a home on the 8000 block of No. 3 Road.
During the search, police found evidence of a drug lab, including equipment and chemicals used in the production of illegal drugs. The RCMP’s Federal Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response (CLEAR) team was called in to assist with the dismantling and disposal of the lab.
Three men, aged 27, 28, and 30, were arrested at the scene and have since been charged with production of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking. They have been released on bail and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
The RCMP is reminding the public of the dangers associated with drug labs, including the risk of explosions and toxic chemicals. They are also urging anyone with information about illegal drug activity to come forward and report it to the police.
This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the production and distribution of illegal drugs in our communities. The RCMP remains committed to keeping our streets safe and will continue to work diligently to disrupt and dismantle drug operations.
