A 29-year-old man has been arrested after a teenage boy was stabbed during an altercation in Montreal.
According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday evening in the borough of Saint-Laurent. The 17-year-old victim was involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect, which quickly turned physical. The suspect then allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
Police were able to locate and arrest the suspect on Sunday morning. He is facing charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Authorities have not released the names of either the suspect or the victim, but they have confirmed that they are known to each other.
