Record-breaking Lotto Max jackpot tickets sold in Ontario, Quebec

The latest Lotto Max draw has made history, with a record-breaking jackpot of $70 million up for grabs. And it seems that luck was on the side of Ontario and Quebec, as the winning tickets were sold in these two provinces.

According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), the winning ticket for the $70 million jackpot was sold in the Greater Toronto Area. This marks the largest lottery prize ever won in the province.

In addition, a second ticket worth $1 million was also sold in Ontario. The OLG has yet to reveal the exact location of where the winning tickets were purchased.

Meanwhile, in Quebec, a ticket sold in the Laurentians region also matched all seven numbers to claim the $70 million jackpot. This marks the largest lottery prize ever won in the province as well.

The winning numbers for the record-breaking draw were 03, 08, 12, 14, 17, 18, and 29, with the bonus number being 11.

The previous record for the largest Lotto Max jackpot was $65 million, which was won in June 2019 and shared by two ticket holders in British Columbia and Ontario.

The OLG has reminded players to check their tickets and claim their prizes as soon as possible. The winners have one year from the draw date to claim their prize.

Lotto Max is a nationwide lottery game in Canada, with draws held every Tuesday and Friday. The jackpot starts at $10 million and can grow up to $70 million. Players must match all seven numbers to win the jackpot, but there are also other prizes for matching fewer numbers.

The next Lotto Max draw will take place on Friday, June 11, with an estimated jackpot of $24 million. Will luck strike again in Ontario and Quebec, or will another province claim the top prize? Only time will tell.
